Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 June 2026

This policy explains what information QR Lnkz collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the QR Lnkz service.

Who we are

Cloudy Software Limited provides QR Lnkz, available at qr.lnkz.in. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@cloudysoftware.co.uk.

The information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), and the workspace details you give us when you sign up.
  • Sign in with Google or Microsoft (optional): if you choose social sign in, we receive the basic profile and email address those providers share.
  • Content you create: your dynamic QR codes, their destinations, and any schedule rules.
  • Scan analytics: when someone scans one of your codes we record an approximate country, the device type and browser worked out from the browser user agent, and a hashed version of the IP address. We do not store the user agent itself, we do not store personal data for scan analytics, and we do not set cookies to collect it.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: used to sign you in and keep you signed in. The service cannot work without them.
  • Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to help us understand how the site is used (see below).

We do not use advertising, profiling, or cross site tracking cookies. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings and the provider opt outs described below.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies that sign you in and keep you signed in are always on, because the service cannot work without them. Beyond those, we use two optional analytics tools, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, only to understand in aggregate how the public site is used so we can improve it. We do not use any advertising or marketing cookies.

Optional analytics is off by default and loads only after you opt in through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. We run analytics only on our public marketing pages, never inside the signed in app.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. It sets cookies and collects usage information such as pages viewed and general location. We run it in analytics only mode with Google Signals and advertising personalisation switched off, and the data is not used for advertising. Google acts as our processor and may process data outside the United Kingdom under appropriate safeguards. You can opt out using your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt out browser add on.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our site through aggregate usage metrics and behaviour such as clicks and scrolling. It sets cookies. Microsoft acts as our processor and may process data outside the United Kingdom under appropriate safeguards. We do not use Clarity for advertising.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and secure the service, to operate the redirect and scan logging that makes dynamic codes work, to show you your analytics, to improve our product, and to meet our legal obligations.

Legal bases

Under UK data protection law we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you to provide the service; our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, understanding site usage, and improving our product; your consent where it is required, such as for non essential cookies; and compliance with our legal obligations.

Sharing and processors

We share personal information only with the providers that help us run the service: our hosting and infrastructure provider, our authentication provider, and the analytics providers named above. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK addendum to the European Commission standard contractual clauses, or a finding of adequacy.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. We keep scan analytics for as long as we need it to provide your reporting. When you close your account, or ask us to delete your data, we remove it unless we are required to keep it by law.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@cloudysoftware.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

How we protect your information

We protect your information with measures including hashed passwords, hashed IP addresses, encrypted connections, and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to keep our measures under review.

Children

QR Lnkz is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
